What belongs on a pledge sheet
Who is asking, and for what
The organization, the participant, the event, and the date go at the top. A sponsor should be able to glance at the sheet and know exactly who they are backing and when the event happens.
Both ways to pledge
Some sponsors want to pledge per lap or per mile so their gift grows with effort. Others just want to write “$20” and be done. Give both a column. A per-unit pledge of $2 a lap across 20 laps is $40 — twice what most flat pledges come in at.
A way to reach the sponsor afterward
This is the column everyone skips and then regrets. Without a phone number or email, a per-unit pledge cannot be collected after the event. Make it required on your sheet.
A Paid column and a totals row
The sheet is also the collection record. A check mark in the Paid column tells the participant (and the treasurer) who still owes. The totals row turns fifteen scribbles into one number to turn in.
A path to pay online
