Sports Fundraising
Your team raises money by playing their sport
Hit-a-thons. Shoot-a-thons. Swim-a-thons. Lift-a-thons. Donors pledge per hit, per lap, per free throw — and your athletes compete to raise the most. Zero platform fees.
Why it works for sports teams
Forget candy bars, car washes, and coupon books. Your athletes didn't sign up to sell stuff door-to-door. They signed up to play. PledgeAthon turns practice into a fundraiser.
Baseball / Softball
Hit-a-Thon
Donors pledge per hit during batting practice. A player with 15 donors at $2/hit who connects 12 times raises $360 in one session. Multiply that across a 15-player roster and you're looking at $3,000–$5,000 from a single afternoon.
Basketball
Shoot-a-Thon
Donors pledge per free throw made. Set up a 60-second or 2-minute shooting challenge. A player sinking 18 out of 25 with $1.50/shot pledges from 20 supporters raises $540. Parents love watching — it turns fundraising into a spectator event.
Football / Wrestling
Lift-a-Thon
Donors pledge per rep or per pound lifted. Your linemen and heavyweight wrestlers finally get to flex for a cause. A kid benching 185 for 12 reps with $0.50/rep pledges from 25 donors pulls in $150. Scale that across a 40-man roster.
Swimming / Track
Swim-a-Thon / Run-a-Thon
Donors pledge per lap or per mile. A swimmer doing 50 laps with $1/lap pledges from 30 supporters raises $1,500 in a single practice. These events are easy to organize because your team is already in the pool or on the track.
Your booster club deserves better than candy bar sales
You spend hours organizing fundraisers that net $800 after splitting profits with a vendor. Meanwhile, your program needs $5,000 for new uniforms and $3,000 for a pitching machine.
With PledgeAthon, 100% of every donation goes to your program. No vendor cuts. No inventory to manage. No kids going door-to-door. Set up a hit-a-thon on Tuesday, have athletes sharing links by Wednesday, and deposit the first donations by Thursday.
One fundraiser. One afternoon. More money than a semester of bake sales.
Built for athletic fundraising
Every feature your program needs to raise more money with less work.
Per-Activity Donations
Donors pledge per hit, per lap, per free throw, per rep — whatever fits your sport. The more your athletes perform, the more they raise.
Live Leaderboards
Athletes compete to be the top fundraiser. Leaderboards drive competition, and competition drives donations. Post it in the locker room.
Zero Platform Fees
Every dollar goes to your program. The only cost is standard Stripe processing (2.9% + $0.30). Cash and check donations have zero fees.
Individual Donation Pages
Every athlete gets their own page with a unique link and QR code. They text it to family, post it on Instagram, hand it out at games.
60-Second Setup
Upload your roster via CSV, set the donation type, and share. No training required. If your team manager can send a group text, they can run this.
Real-Time Dashboard
Track every donation as it comes in. See who's raised the most, who still needs to share their link, and your total — all in one place.

Frequently asked questions
What sports work best with PledgeAthon?
Any sport where you can count something. Baseball (hits), basketball (free throws), football (reps), swimming (laps), track (miles), soccer (goals in a shootout), volleyball (serves). If your athletes can compete at it, donors can pledge on it.
How much can a sports team realistically raise?
Most teams raise $2,000–$8,000 depending on roster size and how actively players share their links. A 20-player baseball team where each kid gets 15 donors at $2/hit and connects 10 times raises $6,000. The key is getting athletes to actually share — leaderboards help with that.
What are the fees?
Zero platform fees. The only cost is standard Stripe processing: 2.9% + $0.30 per card transaction. On a $25 donation, that's $1.03 — your team keeps $23.97. Cash and check donations have no fees at all.
Can we use this for team gear fundraising too?
Yes. You don't have to run a per-activity event. You can set up a flat donation campaign for new uniforms, equipment, travel costs, or facility upgrades. Same zero-fee platform, same shareable links and leaderboards.
How do payouts work?
Connect your bank account through Stripe (one-time, takes 2 minutes). After that, donations deposit within 1 business day. No waiting until the campaign ends — money flows as it comes in.
